The People's League Resumes Action with 40 Teams
Exciting Developments in Local Basketball

As a long-time resident of Santurce, I am excited to see the Puerto Rican Basketball League (LBP) get back into action this Sunday, November 1, with 40 teams from various municipalities across Puerto Rico. This marks the eighth season of the league, and it's great to see such a robust lineup of talent.
During the press conference held at the Cooperativa de Seguros Múltiples in San Juan, LBP President William López highlighted the league's commitment to maintaining competitive balance. The teams will be divided into four sections, with each playing 18 games during the regular season. The introduction of a 'repechage' system in the postseason will provide additional paths to qualification, ensuring more opportunities for participation.
Additionally, the LBP held its inaugural Draft Combine, which was designed to identify and recruit top talent. The first official broadcast will take place at Dr. Wilfredo Toro Coliseum in Hormigueros, during the Santeros-Peregrinos game, marking the facility's renovations. Fans can watch the broadcast via the LBP’s official Facebook and YouTube pages.
For expats and digital nomads living in or visiting Santurce, this is a great opportunity to catch some local basketball action. The games will be a lively addition to the community calendar, and with 40 teams, there will be plenty of teams to cheer for or against.
