La Laguna’s Local Products Fair Brings Tenerife’s Agriculture to the Fore
Mark your calendars for this Saturday, October 3, as La Laguna hosts its annual Local Products Fair. This event, organised by the Canary Farmers and Ranchers Association (Asaga Canarias) in collaboration with the San Cristóbal de La Laguna Council’s Rural Development department, offers a unique opportunity to connect with the local agricultural sector.

The fair, themed ‘Experience and Feel the Canary Countryside,’ will take place from 10:00 to 13:00 at the entrance of La Laguna’s Municipal Market. Visitors can participate in practical tasting workshops, educational experiences, and interactive activities focused on sustainability and responsible consumption.
Cristina Ledesma, the Council’s Rural Development councillor, highlighted the importance of this initiative. She noted that the fair promotes the primary sector throughout the year and aims to showcase local products, encouraging young people to engage with agriculture for generational renewal. The event also supports local consumption of fruits, vegetables, livestock products, honey, and wine, with a focus on food sovereignty and local economies.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of engaging activities, and Asaga Canarias will present a small exclusive gift to those who participate.
