Puerto Vallarta Adds Colorful Mural Art to Día de Muertos Festival
Puerto Vallarta’s Recuérdame Día de Muertos festival is getting an artistic boost with the addition of 10 cemetery murals and a public gallery at Parque Hidalgo. The murals will be painted from October 23 to 29 at the 5 de Diciembre municipal cemetery, with an inauguration on October 30. The gallery will feature live painting sessions from October 30 to November 3. Both installations are part of the municipal program Recuérdame and complement the broader Day of the Dead tradition.

- Cemetery Murals: Artists will paint 4 meter by 3 meter walls, with each mural paid 7,000 pesos. The IVC will supply paints, brushes, and rollers.
- Parque Hidalgo Gallery: The public gallery will run from October 30 to November 3, with live painting sessions from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
- Location: The cemetery murals are located at the 5 de Diciembre municipal cemetery, accessible from the downtown Puerto Vallarta area. The gallery is in Parque Hidalgo, a short walk from the Malecón.
These installations aim to bring vibrancy to the festival, especially for visitors and residents interested in the cultural aspects of Día de Muertos. For those planning to attend the festival, it's a good idea to check the dates as the murals and gallery will only be open during the festival period.
