Janal Pixán 2026: Celebrating Traditions in Leona Vicario

As a dive instructor from Puerto Morelos, I’m always excited about the cultural events that bring our community together. The Janal Pixán 2026 celebration is set to take place on October 30th in Leona Vicario, and residents and visitors alike are invited to participate in the festivities.

Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, the mayor of Puerto Morelos, has invited families to join in the celebration. The event will feature competitions for Catrinas, Alebrijes, and altars, all part of the ‘Alma & Raíz’ theme. The festival is a wonderful opportunity to keep our traditions alive and to celebrate the heritage of Puerto Morelos.

For those interested in participating, the registration period is open from September 1st to October 23rd, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the Instituto Municipal de Cultura y las Artes office in Leona Vicario.
