We've had some cooler days lately, and my kids are complaining about the pool temperature. I'm wondering when it's time to stop using the pool heater and let them get used to the cooler water.

Pool water in the summer is basically bathwater, and 77°F is perfect. It might feel cold at first, but you'll warm up to it. The wind makes it feel chilly today, but overall, this is my favorite swimming weather, aside from early summer.

I actually use my pool as a cold plunge during the winter to help with inflammation after a tough gym session. I can stay in the water for up to 10 minutes when it's between 30°F and 50°F.

Back in my day, we didn't have smart pools or iPhones to check the temperature. We'd just have to reach in and grab the thermometer. So, who's calling who spoiled? In all seriousness, 76°F is the minimum pool temperature for me.
