Los Cabos Sees New Environmental Rules for Language Schools
Since I opened my language school in Los Cabos in 2022, I've seen firsthand the beauty and fragility of this coastal paradise. But with the arrival of new environmental regulations, we must adapt to protect the very environment we teach about.
As of this month, the local government has implemented stricter rules for small operators like my language school. The new regulations aim to reduce water and waste, protect the reef, and preserve the forest. While these changes are necessary for the greater good, they come at a cost for small businesses.
For instance, the waste management guidelines now require daily waste separation, which can be a challenge with limited space and resources. Similarly, the water conservation measures mandate the installation of water-saving devices, which can be expensive for a small operation.
These rules are not just for my school. They affect all businesses in Los Cabos, particularly those in sensitive coastal areas. If you are a business owner or a digital nomad running a small operation here, you need to stay informed and adjust accordingly.
Owns a language school in Los Cabos since 2022. Knows what a rule change costs a small operator.
