Gas Prices Reach 30 Pesos in La Paz: What This Means for Expats

More than thirteen gas stations in La Paz are now charging more than 30 pesos per liter for Premium gasoline, according to recent reports. This increase is particularly noticeable for expats and digital nomads relying on rental cars or personal vehicles in the area.

The spread in prices is significant, with the lowest recorded at 26.69 pesos per liter and the highest at 30.50 pesos. A 40-liter tank at the cheapest option costs 1,067.60 pesos, compared to 1,220 pesos at the most expensive, a difference of 152.4 pesos or about seven U.S. dollars.

For those filling up, the cost of Premium gasoline has become a major expense. Regular gasoline, meanwhile, starts at 22.97 pesos per liter, with a 40-liter fill-up ranging between 918.80 and 1,000 pesos. Drivers are advised to check current rates before filling up to save money.
