My roommate and I moved into our new apartment in Hermon and were startled by the coyote howls. We've heard them before, but it's different when you're right next to them. Do coyotes howl like they're in a pack, or is it just one or two?

Living near a coyote pack can be a unique experience. The constant howling can be a challenge, but people in the area learn to adapt to the soundscape.

We're in Hermon, and the coyotes are a common sight. Sometimes, their howling sounds like a large group surrounding our house. It's quite astonishing. We see them roaming the streets all the time, and it's become a normal part of our daily lives.

Coyotes have an interesting behavior where they use their howls to create the illusion of a larger group. This can be a clever tactic, especially when they're trying to scare off potential threats.

I have a wooded area behind my home in Santa Clarita, and the sounds of the coyotes and owls at night are really soothing. The coyotes' howling usually doesn't last too long, and the hoot of an owl is incredibly calming.
