Is it realistic to take Metro to the Bellwether?

I'm planning to visit the Bellwether and I'm considering taking the Metro. The Bellwether website says it's just a short walk from the Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill stop, but I've looked at the map and I'm not sure it's safe or feasible to walk there.

I did it the other night and it was totally doable.

You'd have to walk down 2nd street under the 110 freeway where an encampment takes up the entire sidewalk, forcing you to walk in the oncoming traffic of 2nd street after it emerges from the 2nd street bridge. Then you'd have to walk up Beaudry, a steep hill that takes you to 3rd street. It's not a pleasant walk, even during the daytime.

I avoid getting off at Grand Ave because of the encampment. Instead, I get off at 7th street and grab a Chik-fil-A afterwards.

It's definitely easier than finding decent parking.

I used to walk from 2nd and Figueroa. To get to the other side, I'd head east on Figueroa to 3rd street and then walk up the hill on 3rd instead of staying on 2nd.

Using 3rd street is a good option because it has a bridge and a sidewalk on the north side. However, it's worth noting that 2nd street is an underpass and may have homeless people in it, even if it's not currently occupied. The walk is safe and fine otherwise, with a mix of residential and commercial areas along the way.
