Cancún Celebrates Vaquita Marinas with Family-Friendly Event
Cancún, Mexico This Saturday, residents and visitors in Cancún will have the opportunity to participate in a free event dedicated to learning about and protecting the vaquita marina, one of the world's most endangered marine mammals. Organized by Delphinus and the Instituto de la Cultura y las Artes de Benito Juárez, the event at Parque de las Palapas will run from 17:00 to 20:00 on October 10th.

Attendees can look forward to a range of activities including educational games, interactive science demonstrations, and craft-making sessions, all aimed at making the conservation of the vaquita marina accessible and engaging for the whole family. The vaquita marina, scientifically named *Phocoena sinus*, is uniquely found in the Upper Gulf of California and is the world's most endangered marine mammal.
Understanding the importance of protecting this species is crucial, and this event is a significant step towards achieving that goal. For expats and digital nomads like myself, living in Cancún, it's a chance to contribute to a cause that directly impacts our local ecosystem and future.
