Baleado Found Near Playa del Carmen Jail: What It Means for Cancunians

A body of a man, shot and left dead, was discovered early Saturday morning near the Juárez Avenue in Playa del Carmen, close to the municipal prison. This alarming incident highlights ongoing safety concerns for expats and digital nomads living in the area.

The discovery was made by a driver around 1 AM, who found the man lying in a pool of blood, close to a commercial establishment and not far from the municipal prison. The local police were quickly dispatched to secure the scene and gather evidence, while the state prosecutor's office took over the investigation.
