Calgary Water Restrictions and Pipeline Project Progress
Starting in November, Calgary residents will face Stage Four outdoor water restrictions as the city works on the tie-in of the Bearspaw South replacement feeder main. This project, which was originally scheduled for mid-October, has been delayed due to specialized parts being delayed in transit. The restrictions, expected to last four weeks, will coincide with the CFL's Grey Cup event, which is being hosted in the city.

Michael Thompson, the City of Calgary's water utility Chief Operating Officer, stated that the new pipe should be operational by the end of the year after the commissioning process, which includes flushing, disinfecting, and water quality testing. He emphasized the importance of water conservation and thanked event organizers for their cooperation.
For expats and digital nomads living in Calgary, these water restrictions mean planning your daily routines around limited water usage. Stay tuned for updates on the project and expect potential impacts on local businesses and daily life during this period.
