I'm flying into Suvarnabhumi Airport at 11:55 pm and my hotel is nearby. I'm a black female solo traveler and I'm wondering if it's safe to walk to a 7-11 at 12:30 am.

7-11s are everywhere in Bangkok, so you'll probably find one close to your hotel. It's unlikely that you'll have any issues, regardless of your background.

To be honest, I'm not sure what kind of concern you have. Safety? Discrimination? I don't think you have anything to worry about, as long as the 7-11 isn't in a really remote area.

In general, Bangkok is a very safe city, and you shouldn't have any problems. Just steer clear of the seedier areas around lower Sukhumvit and you'll be fine.

Compared to your home country, I think you'll find Bangkok to be a very safe place. You'll probably feel much more at ease here than you would back home.

To put it into perspective, I think you're more likely to get mugged or killed in a city like Dallas than you are in Bangkok.
