Why is the Fort Needham bell tower ringing 5 minutes early?

I live near the Fort Needham park and it's driving me crazy that the bell tower is ringing 5 minutes early every day. I'm wondering if it's just a setting on a box somewhere that needs to be adjusted.

I live nearby too and it's getting worse. Used to be 3 or 4 minutes early, now it's 5. Come on HRM, surely it's just a simple setting adjustment.

To be honest, they've always been a few minutes behind, you just get used to it.

I'd understand if it was 4 minutes late, but 5 minutes early is just sloppy.

I've been observing a peculiar routine for a couple of years now. Our daily dog walk always coincides with the chimes from the nearby church clock tower at 4:55 PM.

The 4:55 chimes from the church clock tower signal that it's almost time to head home, as dinner is typically ready on the table by then.
