I work for a local non-profit that assists with street outreach in Phoenix. We'd like to be more active in the Maryvale area but need to know specific areas to assist the best we can.

Begin your search around Indian School and 27th Avenue. Be sure to check areas near canals, gas stations, bus stops, and parks. Smaller encampments may be visible while driving along main roads such as Indian School and Thomas.

A group of people can be found near Indian School and the Canal. They generally keep to themselves. A food distribution group was active in the area about six months ago, but I haven't seen them during my evening runs recently.

You might see people around St Mary's food bank, but I'm not sure how much assistance you'll receive. The majority of individuals passing by my office in that area also stop to use substances.

Head west on McDowell Road through 75th Avenue. Inspect the areas behind gas stations.

The area around 51st Avenue and McDowell is particularly notable. Just north and south of the freeway, homeless individuals often congregate in the parking lots of hotels and businesses.

There's an organization in Maryvale that does a significant amount of work. You might consider reaching out to them and having a casual conversation to gather more information.
