What's the usual renter responsibility for a contract in La Libertad?

I've been tasked with renting a property in a nearby neighborhood, and I'm unsure if the tenant should pay for the contract or if I should cover the cost. My lawyer charges $25 for the contract, and the tenant mentioned that they work for a firm and can get the contract for free. I'm not sure what to do.

The tenant usually pays for the contract. Even if it's a favor, it's better to be upfront with them and tell them no, rather than dealing with potential problems in the future.

The $25 seems reasonable, but typically the tenant pays for the contract. If you're considering using the firm recommended by the tenant, ask for the name of the firm and the notary who will handle the contract, and then verify their credentials.

You should pay your lawyer, and the tenant should pay for the contract. To ensure security, ask the tenant for signed promissory notes for one month's rent. Send them a photo of the note when they pay, and when they return the house, give them the physical copy.
