Hang Ma Street Closes for Traditional Mid-Autumn Market: What It Means for Hoi An's Expats and Digital Nomads
Hang Ma Street, a key area in Hanoi, will be temporarily closed from September 15 to 25 to host the 2026 Traditional Mid-Autumn Market. As a local running a coffee place near An Bang beach, I've seen how this event brings the city to life, and it’s not just for Hanoi residents-it also attracts visitors from all over, including expats and digital nomads like myself.
The market will feature stalls selling traditional handicrafts, mooncakes, and folk toys, creating a festive atmosphere along the street. While it's exciting for the locals, it might also be a bit of a hassle for the usual traffic in the area. The good news is that there will be designated parking areas on Thuoc Bac Street, and staff will be directing visitors to park there.
If you're planning to visit Hanoi during the mid-autumn festival, make sure to check out the market. It’s a great opportunity to experience traditional Vietnamese culture and perhaps even try some delicious mooncakes while enjoying the local ambiance. Just remember to follow the instructions to keep the area clean and safe.
