Surf City El Salvador 2026: More Than Just Surfing

Surf City El Salvador 2026 isn't just a surfing carnival anymore. This year, the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship is bringing chess, yoga, and a whole lot of kids to the waves and beaches of El Zonte and beyond. At La Bocana, the surfing is still heating up, but over at El Sunzal, kids and teens are showing their strategic skills in a chess competition. It’s a mix of waves, checkers, and wellness that’s making El Salvador a place where every generation can find something to love.

50 young chess players from 8 to 17 are getting their minds as sharp as their moves. Nearby, yoga sessions are bringing together surfers and spectators for a healthy dose of relaxation. It’s clear that Surf City is becoming a destination for more than just surfers-families and young people are finding a home here too.
