A friend of mine was planning to attend GlutenFree Fall Fest in Chicago this weekend, but was called by another friend not to come due to the huge crowds. I'm curious to hear from anyone who attended.

You might also want to check out a community dedicated to celiac disease. I'm a celiac and I wasn't aware of it, which is why I found it interesting.

I looked up information about it online and found a video discussing the issue. It seems the problem was largely due to high demand and extremely long lines for food. I saw that a huge number of people were there, which was probably more than the event was initially designed for.

I attended one of these events, and it was essentially just a line to wait in. You'd pick a line, and maybe you'd get to order food or maybe you wouldn't, since the vendors were running out of food and temporarily stopping orders due to being overwhelmed. I waited 45 minutes for food from a food truck, which wasn't well-planned at all. In contrast, a similar event I attended in Milwaukee was more organized and moved at a faster pace.

I tried to attend, but they shut it down shortly after I arrived. Everything sold out within 30 minutes of opening, and the staff member told me that the county had shut them down due to overcrowding. There were a lot of people present, but no food was left. I ended up going to Bibibop, a nearby restaurant, as a consolation.
