What's the scam on Sukhumvit Road?
Servizi 6 answers • Veronique
I've noticed two guys walking around on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, approaching people and pointing at their heads or hair. They seem to be trying to start a conversation, but it looks like a scam. Does anyone know how this scam works and what they're trying to get people to do?

It's an old scam that tourists should be aware of. Just ignore them and keep walking.

Be cautious of scammers in tourist areas who try to sell fake hair growth serum. If you're approached, tell them to leave you alone or threaten to call the authorities.

This reminds me of a woman who tried to sell me paintings outside Terminal 21 today. She was carrying them in a brown paper bag.

I had a similar experience with a young western woman trying to sell me paintings around Sukhumvit 12 a year ago. I declined, but it was odd.
