Which record store gives the best value when selling to them?

I have a couple hundred records I'm hoping could be enough to cover cost of an emergency move. My landlord is turning control over to a property management company that is raising our rent over $200. I need to get the absolute most possible.

When selling records, you can expect to get only a small fraction of their value from a physical store. However, if the condition is good, selling individual records online can yield a better price.

A store typically pays around a third of the price it believes it can sell a record for, making it the lowest price you'll get. To get the best deal, consider visiting Cactus and Sound Exchange, but call ahead to confirm their buying schedule and whether they're interested in the whole collection or individual records. Beforehand, gather your top 20 records and research their sold prices on Discogs to identify which ones are worth selling separately.

If you're looking for a reliable option, consider visiting a reputable record store with experienced staff. They can provide you with a fair and reasonable price for your vinyl collection.
