I'm a German parent of two, living in Houston for 8 years, looking for a ceramics studio with flexible membership options for my girlfriend and me to use on weekends, ideally with the ability to buy our own materials and work independently.

Joining a studio in the Asch building will grant you access to facilities at your convenience. You can come and go as you please without needing an instructor.

HTX Clay has memberships like this. They offer a membership program that allows you to access the studio's facilities and equipment without an instructor.

Creatorspace.org seems like it has a decent pottery setup. It's located further southeast, but it might be worth checking out if you're looking for a ceramics studio with flexible membership options.

Some studios charge extra for firing fees, which can add up. It's a good idea to ask about these additional costs before signing up.

Thank you for pointing out the firing fees! I didn't think about that and it's really important to consider when looking for a ceramics studio.

Third Coast Clay might have the independent studio or membership options you're looking for. They're a ceramics studio that offers a range of services and facilities.
