I've reawakened my obsession with Tom Yum Goong soup and I want to make it from scratch. I'm looking for stores that have the necessary ingredients, such as fresh galangal, Thai chili paste, and makrut lime leaves.

If you head down the street a bit more, you'll find Enson. They have a wide selection of ingredients, but you might not find Thai or holy basil there. I've had better luck finding those at HMart. Enson also carries tom yam paste, which you can find in the seasoning or jarred aisle if you prefer to take the easy route.

I'm planning to purchase the paste as a backup, but I was really hoping to make it from scratch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can find all the necessary ingredients.

Many Thai people prefer to shop at iFresh or Enson. While iFresh might be a more popular choice due to its proximity, both stores are great options.

I'm looking for various Thai ingredients. I've found that Lotte and H Mart have similar offerings. You can find Thai basil and Thai chili peppers at Lotte. Canned paste are widely available at most Asian grocery stores, including Lotte. Additionally, Lotte has a more extensive selection of produce compared to Enson. iFresh and Dong A also carry a range of Thai ingredients.

The standout ingredients for me were fresh galangal and Thai chili paste. I believe you can find makrut lime leaves at any Asian store, but I'm not entirely sure.

For makrut lime leaves and fresh galangal, I recommend checking out iFresh or Dong A. I personally purchased mine from Dong A, and I've never seen it at Enson or Lotte. Thai chili paste is widely available at most Asian stores, including Maesri paste. If you're in a pinch, you can find Thai Kitchen brand at WalMart or Target. However, I'd suggest starting at Enson and then visiting iFresh or Dong A if you can't find the ingredients there.
