What to do about drain flies in Miami?

I've seen a few drain flies in my apartment, mostly in the bathroom, and I'd like to get rid of them. I've been here for about a month and a half. Is the occasional drain fly normal in Miami, and are there any tips for getting rid of them or is it a seasonal thing?

Try using night lights with sticky traps attached to catch flies, and for the drains, use drain cleaner to repel them.

Cover the drains with a wet paper towel loaded with dish soap, as flies can't navigate through the soap's slippery surface.

Check for any visible fruit or vegetables, as they might be attracting the flies. Wipe down all surfaces, especially granite countertops, as the surface grain can conceal small spills. Vinegar is a useful tool in this process.

Pouring boiling water down the drain a few times, followed by bleach, seems to be an effective method.

Even just using boiling water initially can be effective in getting rid of the flies.
