Alternative group tours or local companies in Siem Reap?

Dienste 3 answers • Stefan
I'm considering a last-minute trip to Cambodia and don't have the time to plan a full solo itinerary from scratch. I'd love to join a group tour (preferably with a younger crowd), but my research keeps hitting the same major operators: G Adventures, Intrepid, Contiki, TruTravels and Intro Travel. Are there any alternative group tours or local companies I should look into? I'm actually on a budget and would prefer to spend

Be prepared for a budget blowout if you plan to stay in hostels. A week-long stay can easily cost $400, which might leave you with limited options for exploring Siem Reap.

If you're looking for a more laid-back atmosphere, consider staying at OneDerz or Siem Reap Pub Hostel, which offer organized tours and a more relaxed vibe. However, if your budget is $400 for a week, covering room, food, travel, and tours, you might need to prioritize your spending. Here's a rough breakdown of costs: a visa costs $30, the airport bus is $16, an Angkor Pass for one day is $37, a bunk bed in a hostel is $15, and food can cost around $105.

Before planning your trip, take some time to research what you want to see and do in Cambodia. Don't waste time looking for tours if the mainstream options don't appeal to you. You can also consider staying in small hotels or guesthouses, which often offer a more authentic experience and can cost as little as $10 per night.
