I'm considering returning to Tulum for 6 months and want to know if the high season for gyms and events is during October-March, and if it's still possible to find a community that's not just tourists.

Gyms and classes generally remain open year-round, but some may have a reduced schedule during the low season. The 'high' season is from mid-November to mid-May, with September being the lowest point. October is still relatively low, but you can usually book classes and reservations without issues, except for a few chaotic weeks in January.

Staying in Tulum can be a good idea if you enjoy the beach and are able to find your own community. It's possible to find people who share your interests and values, but it may take some time and effort.
