Strong Waves and Dangerous Currents to Hit Santurce’s Beaches This Tuesday
Residents and visitors in Santurce should take extra precautions this Tuesday as strong waves and dangerous currents are expected to hit the coast. The Servicio Nacional de Meteorología (SNM) has warned that waves up to 12 feet are anticipated between Rincón and Fajardo, posing a risk to swimmers and beachgoers.

While the risk of flooding is decreasing, strong waves and currents could still lead to localized erosion and pose a danger to those in the Atlantic-facing areas of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The SNM advises beachgoers to stay out of the water in dangerous areas and follow local authorities' recommendations to avoid incidents related to the dangerous currents.
Given my experience as a taco stand owner in Santurce, I want to emphasize the importance of heeding these warnings. With the ocean conditions expected to be particularly challenging, it's crucial to stay informed and take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe day at the beach.
As a taco stand owner, I understand the importance of safety and the impact of ocean conditions on our community. It's essential to follow the SNM's advice and avoid the water in areas with strong currents. This is especially important for those of us who rely on the beach for our livelihoods, as well as for the safety of our families and friends.
