Why is the I-17 freeway closed in Phoenix?

I'm heading to work from the north side and saw a few state troopers blocking the road, but I don't know what's going on. Can anyone tell me why the freeway is closed?

A serious accident is likely if they close the freeway. I'm checking traffic on Google Maps, which currently displays an incident.

Where is the closure? I'm only seeing a closure on the 303 NB on AZ511.

A fatal accident occurred at I-17 & Carefree Highway, according to a news article I read. This is likely the reason for the closure.
