I was playing Tekken with my friend and we met some Panamanians online, but they were really unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. We used to play with a group of people from the city and the provinces, but they got really exclusive and wouldn't play with us unless we met in person.

Yes, the gaming community is generally toxic.

I've been playing fighting games for a long time, and I can confirm that the FG community in Panama is not great. People don't help each other improve and they just trash talk. It's not just Tekken, Street Fighter is also pretty bad. I recommend finding people to play with outside of Panama and practicing in training mode, then entering online tournaments.
