I'm planning a first long stay in Luang Prabang and I'm curious to know what locals and expats pack for a day trip around town.

Wow, it seems like I'm overthinking this. For day trips in Luang Prabang, my essentials are usually earbuds, a guidebook (I'm old-fashioned), a water bottle, and an umbrella.

I'm an over-planner, and I like to be prepared for all possible outcomes. However, I need to learn to chill sometimes and not overthink things.

You're packing everything you could possibly need for a day, but that's not the same as packing what you'll actually need for your planned activities. Do you really need earplugs and a flashlight for a walk around town?

This is just a list I'm creating to help me decide what to bring for the day. I'll add or subtract items based on my plans and the weather forecast for Luang Prabang.
