Esperanza checks all the boxes for a romantic honeymoon experience, with an adults-only pool where we spent most of our time. The staff are amazing and really spoiled us, especially since they knew we were celebrating our anniversary. The spa is top-notch, I got the best massage I’ve ever had.

The Cabo San Lucas Golf Course Resort is a pleasant surprise with very nice grounds, large rooms, and secure surroundings. It's also easy to get an Uber from the resort, making it a convenient option for those who prefer not to walk.

Grand Velas is worth going to for its best food and service in the all-inclusive category, and it usually has solid accessibility. It's located in the corridor/San Jose area, which is more expensive than downtown Cabo, but it's a good option for those who can afford it.

Hacienda Cocina y Tapas offers great views, reportedly fitting the bill for a nice birthday dinner. Located at a water-facing location, it provides a warm atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner.

It had an old-school Hollywood vibe. And then you'd go swim at the 'beach club' at La Concha, which felt super remote at that time. The other hotels I stayed at back then were the Finisterra and the Sol Mar. They all felt a little less 'mega' and more end of the road.

They also speak English and can be WhatsApped in English, making booking easy if you're visiting.

Easy Uber ride or walk to restaurants in town, popular with families. Fun pools for the kids, good pools, easy beach time, and you're not stuck taking long rides every time someone wants tacos or ice cream.

For a $200 budget, I'd think small-group sunset sail rather than private. Private boats in Cabo get expensive fast once you add crew, fuel, dock fees, etc. A 2.5-3 hour sunset sail out of the Cabo marina, visiting the Arch/Land's End, with a slow cruise on the Pacific side if conditions are good, drinks/snacks included, and not one of the loud party catamarans, is the perfect fit for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

If you want to leave your resort for dinner, Hacienda Beach Club is a better choice as it's closer to town. It's a great option if you're looking for something special.
