We're looking for alternative activities in the actual town of Cabo San Lucas, away from the Marina/Tourist area, after spending our previous trip in that area.

Have you considered visiting the glass factory and Artesanos in the area? They're great places to explore and get a feel for the local culture.

I'd recommend staying in or near San Jose del Cabo, it's about a half hour from Cabo San Lucas and has a more cultural historic downtown. It's definitely worth spending a day there if you're based in CSL.

If you're looking for something a bit off the beaten path, consider visiting Cabo Pulmo, renting a side by side in East Cape, and exploring the coast and mountain roads. You can also go snorkeling and visit Todos Santos and El Triunfo.

I highly recommend Guss Tacos, they have a massive amount of food, but be careful with the lemonade, it might not agree with you.
