I'm looking for recommendations for a couple in their early 70's with slight mobility issues who don't want an all-inclusive resort and are on a budget.

Ichtel has a nice elevator and pool, but getting to the hotel might be challenging if the sand is messy. There are also hotels in town with good access to streets, like Posada del mar, which is street level.

If you're on a budget, Nautibeach's ground floor or Ixchel are great options. Alternatively, you could look at Rocamar, which is more affordable. There are also plenty of Airbnb and VRBO properties available.

We've stayed at Isla Retreats for the past three years when visiting, but it's located in the middle of the island, so a golf cart or taxi might be necessary to get to town.
