I'm going to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the River Oaks Theater with friends for Halloween. We've never been to a midnight showing before.

We attended a performance without prior knowledge of the show's traditions. A performer asked if we were new, and we were offered the option to draw a V on our forehead as a sign of our first attendance. We declined, and the performer was understanding. We had a great time despite not knowing the rituals, and the crowd was very welcoming. In fact, we were impressed by the variety of costumes and the overall atmosphere, which made us want to return for another show. We felt comfortable showing up without prior planning, and the experience was enjoyable.

It's a good idea to arrive with some extra time to spare. If you're planning to grab a drink or purchase a prop bag, you'll want to get there at least 30 minutes before the show starts. This will also give you time to get settled and take in the surroundings.

We arrived about 15 minutes before the show began and had plenty of time to grab a drink at the bar, pick up a prop bag, and order some popcorn. There's also a small merchandise booth near the stage where you can purchase show-related items. The shadow cast started about 10 minutes late, but the pre-show atmosphere was lively, with the cast members mingling with the audience and many people in costume. People-watching was definitely a highlight of our visit.
