You told your fern good job when you got off the train
stefan · Montrose, Houston · Oct 13
You were asleep, sitting perfectly upright on the train with a very large fern in your lap, and each time the carriage swayed the fern leaned in the same direction as you, like a pair. I was across from you watching a small act of friendship between a person and a plant. Your stop came. You woke up at exactly the right moment, as did the fern. You picked it up and said, good job, to nobody. I do not know which of you it was for. I have thought about it all week.
