I'm interviewing for a job near Scarborough Town Centre and I'd like to live in a dense urban space downtown, but I'm not sure if it's feasible to commute from there to STC every day.

If you don't want to live downtown, the Danforth is a fun neighborhood to consider, offering a more laid-back atmosphere while still being connected to the city through public transportation.

If you don't consider your commute, it's likely to be longer than necessary, whether you're driving or taking public transportation.

You can take the subway until Kennedy Station and then transfer to the 938 bus, which will take you straight to STC.

Living in the east end or inside of Scarborough might be a more affordable option, with lower rent prices and less crowding. You'll also be closer to your workplace.

If you don't plan your commute, you could be losing up to two hours per day. However, you can always take the longer route occasionally when you want to explore downtown.

Finding a balance between affordability and urban living can be smart. Toronto has many dense areas beyond the downtown core, and living near the Danforth could be a good compromise. This is especially true for those who don't need to be in the heart of the action every day.
