Dehydrated in Puerto Vallarta - what to do?
Zdrowie i Wellness 5 answers • igor_baraigor_bara
My family and I have visited Puerto Vallarta several times, and I've noticed that I get dehydrated easily, especially when we first arrive. Last time, I was fine for a few days, but then suddenly lost my appetite and couldn't eat. I'm planning on bringing liquid IV packs with me this time, but I'd like to know if anyone has any other advice.

I always alternate between a drink and a full bottle of water. It's become a habit for me, and it's helped me stay hydrated, especially when I'm out and about in the city.

When in Puerto Vallarta, be mindful of your electrolyte balance. Dehydration is just one part of the issue - it's also about the imbalance of water and essential minerals like potassium, magnesium, and sodium. I've observed firsthand the effects of this imbalance on locals and visitors alike, and it's a serious concern.

Pedialyte is widely available at Oxxo and pharmacies, and I always keep a few in the fridge. My wife was hospitalized for heat stroke last year, and it was a wake-up call for us. Make sure to stay hydrated and don't overdo it on your first night.

Salt is your friend in Mexico. People always talk about electrolytes, but it's really just about salt.

I figured that's why they salt the rim of margaritas.
