What to do with a found Mediterranean house gecko in Phoenix?

I found this little guy in my house and I'm not sure what to do with him. My research says he's a Mediterranean house gecko, which is not native to the area, but I'm not sure if he's a lost pet or not. I've got him in a small enclosure with crickets to eat, but I don't know much about caring for him. I'm looking for recommendations on what to do with him, and where would be the best place to release him back into the wild if that's what's best for him.

Geckos are notoriously difficult to care for due to their small size. It's unlikely that someone would have kept one as a pet, especially if it's not a baby.

Mediterranean house geckos have thrived in the Sonoran desert for decades, feeding on pests and having no apparent negative effects on the ecosystem. Scientists have deemed it safe to let them continue living here. This little gecko would be better off outside, where it can roam freely and hunt for food.

Lizards are meant to be outside, doing what comes naturally to them. Geckos included, they should be free to roam and hunt. Releasing this one would give it the best possible life.
