I've noticed that near resorts in the Hotel Zone, when events are on, they rope off the beach and stop access. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to access the beach near the roped off areas and hear any of the events.

I've been reading about shark sightings in Cancun and I'm interested in taking a specialized tour to see them. I know there are other species around besides Whale Sharks, but I'm not sure where to go or what type of tour to take.
