I'm a 30 year old living with my mom in NYC, and I'm grateful for the comfort and financial security it provides. I've noticed that some of my friends with great careers complain about the high cost of rent and living alone. I'm curious to know if there are others like me who are living with family in their 30s.

My uncle, for example, never moved out of his parents' house, even after he got married and had children. He played a vital role in caring for his grandparents until they passed away.

This is a common issue in the United States, where the emphasis is on single-family households. Many other countries have successfully implemented multi-family households, which work well for their communities. While I understand the desire for personal space, I believe this was a deliberate choice made by our capitalist society.

I live with my mom in our family house on 5th Avenue in Brooklyn. It's paid off, and I cover the property tax. The house is quite spacious for NYC, and there are just two of us. I could afford to rent a decent apartment, but I prefer not to live alone, and I wouldn't want my mom to live alone either.
