We've been noticing springtails in our shower after the recent rain, and I'm wondering if this is normal in South Florida. Any tips for getting rid of them would be great.

After heavy rain, springtails emerge from drains in search of moisture. In my apartment, I found that pouring vinegar down the drain after each shower helped to deter them.

Springtails thrive in humid environments, so it's essential to keep the tub dry and inspect the pipes for any leaks. Once moisture levels are under control, these pests usually disappear on their own.

I had no idea what springtails were, so I looked it up. Apparently, they have a special mechanism to catapult themselves into the air. Not sure how to get rid of them, but I'm definitely going to try to keep my shower area dry.
