I've been getting quotes for a private transfer from Playa del Carmen to Cancun airport for my family of four and one quote came in at 800 pesos, which seems like a good price. I've been searching online and looking for recommendations from friends.

It's standard taxi price. Anything higher then it's no bueno.

The price is quite competitive, especially considering the current fuel costs.

You're fortunate to find a price under $40, especially during times of high fuel prices. I've seen prices fluctuate a lot in the area.

My private driver sometimes charges me $500, but he often quotes $1000 to other clients.

This is a good deal, as the usual fare for a private transfer is $1000. I've had a good experience with a driver named Elmer Can, who offers a more reasonable price.

I usually ask for a drop-off at the Playa del Carmen airport for groups of two to four people.
