Affordable shopping in Mexico City for younger people?

Shopping 3 answers • Laura
I'm returning to Mexico City for a week with a group of three friends in our mid-twenties. We're looking for affordable shopping options, particularly thrifting and antiques. We've already planned to visit La Lagunilla, but we're open to other recommendations for non-Sunday excursions. We're also interested in food and bar/club/venue recommendations that fit our alt/rock/indie tastes, but we're open to other genres as well. We're looking for a low-key club experience rather than a huge nightclub vibe. Additionally, we'd appreciate any suggestions for day and night activities, as we've already planned to visit the Frida Kahlo house and the Anthropology museum.

Any bar along Avenida Alvaro Obregón in Roma Norte is going to be good for the vibe you're looking for. Departamento, Rojo are just a couple of examples, but there are plenty of other options.

Head to Gato Calavera, a lively punk bar with a unique layout featuring shops downstairs and a performance venue upstairs.

Visit Patrick Miller on Fridays in Roma Norte for a high-energy dance experience with music from the 80s and 90s. This spot is a must-see for those who enjoy lively nightlife. In Juárez, you'll also find the bars Cananea and Minutito worth checking out. Club Tengo Hambre offers a fantastic taco tour, and I highly recommend it for trying the city's best tacos. On Saturdays and Sundays, a small flea market takes place in front of Parque Pushkin in Roma, where you can find some interesting antique items. Additionally, be sure to explore Tiendita Juana in Condesa, Casi Casi in Santa María la Ribera, and Travieso in other areas of the city.
