Is it acceptable to travel through the yellow stripes on the 35 feeder in Austin?

I've noticed that when people on the feeder are slowing down to turn onto a perpendicular road, drivers behind them often cut off by driving into the yellow stripes to avoid slowing down. This creates a problem for people trying to turn right into the feeder because it's unclear if an impatient driver will barrel through.

Some drivers ignore speed limits, which can be hazardous. They should exercise more caution and adhere to posted speed limits.

We need to take measures to prevent accidents. Installing physical barriers can help achieve this goal.

If a vehicle is already on the feeder road and traveling at the posted speed, it shouldn't be necessary for it to slow down to allow a vehicle entering from a side road to merge. However, the merging vehicle should only proceed when it's safe to do so and won't impede oncoming traffic.

I'm cautious when merging onto a feeder road, but I've noticed that when drivers on the feeder are slowing down to turn, some drivers behind them will move into the yellow area to avoid slowing down for the turner.

I understand now that the scenario involves vehicles both exiting and entering the feeder at roughly the same time.
