My family and I are from Nepal and were visiting Santurce. My dad had a stroke and is in the ICU at Hospital UPR Dr. Federico Trilla in Carolina. We want comfort-focused care, but we've been told a court order is required in Puerto Rico before this can happen, but we haven't gotten clear guidance from the hospital on the legal process.

Ask the hospital for a social work consultation to help you navigate the situation. During visiting hours, speak with your father's doctor and ask if they can facilitate this consultation. I'm sorry to hear about your father, and I hope you and your family find comfort during this time.
